The Race

The car is loaded into Scott Thompson's pickup for a test run.  Howard Shroeder waves to fans.
The whole Precision Cordless Drill Team with the car and driver. L-R: Brian, Craig, Joe, Helen, Scott T., Howard, Trisha, Bob, Kim, Scott M., Bert, John

Tricia Lovgren did a terrific job of driving.  With the counter-intuitive steering system, we were afraid she would choke and pull the brake, but she blasted straight through, and even remembered to use the front end "cheater."
We were sure we would smoke them, but we didn't make it past the first heat!  Still we won a trophy-appropriately a block of Velveeta with wheels-for the coolest looking entry.

Here is the racing team, in good spirits despite the crushing defeat.
