Corncorde

Corncorde was
commissioned for the International Concourse of the Hartsfield Atlanta
International Airport in 1996, and installed just prior to the Olympic
Games. The 10 foot long "jet corn" with a 10 foot "shuckspan"
was carved from tulip poplar and painted with oil paint. Corncorde
can be seen at gate E-16.

"With the public installation of Concorde, Craig Nutt has achieved a
rare fusion of wit, humor, social commentary, and graceful craftsmanship in a
work which is appealing and morally grounded without ever appearing didactic or
self-satisfied." - Mara Adamitz Scrupe
