Banana Pepper Cabinet With Seeds and
Fruit stands almost seven feet high standing on its asparagus
legs. A large cherry rests on one of its seed-studded shelves.
The cabinet was commissioned by Washington,
DC collector Rebecca Klemm for the permanent collection of Washington's
Corcoran Gallery of Art. The gift was in honor of her friend and
colleague Annette Shelby on the occasion of Ms. Shelby's retirement from
the faculty of Georgetown University.
The Corcoran Gallery of Art is the largest
non-Federal art museum in Washington, DC.
