Blossom Table
"When
the onions in my 'model garden' started to bloom, my first reaction
aside from the beauty of the plants themselves, was that the
long central stalk with its partially developed blossom would
make a wonderful table leg." Craig Nutt turned and steam-bent
birch to form the gracefully curving legs of this table. The
blossoms were placed against the floor, and the blossoms of
the front legs are carved partially opened, exposing the tiny
florets inside. The legs are painted with artists' oils and
the top is naturally finished cherry. The tables have the lightness
and quiet elegance one associates with Shaker furniture and
Windsor chairs.
